New: a 7-day free trial
Click Start 7-day free trial in the activation window, the first thing Rapid Radial shows you. Every feature is switched on, and no license key is needed.
When the seven days are up, Rapid Radial doesn’t lock. It becomes the free version. The wheel, Rapid Search for finding and previewing media, keyboard-shortcut commands, and the General page’s apps, links, shortcuts and macros all keep working. Anything that changes your project needs a license: applying effects, transitions and titles, inserting media, and so on.
For a few seconds each time the wheel opens, it shows how many days are left. Registration… in the Rapid Radial menu (menu bar on Mac, system tray on Windows) shows when the trial ends.
Each computer gets one trial. You can activate a license at any time, during the trial or after it.
Privacy: starting the trial sends us a one-time notice. It holds a hashed device ID, your platform (Mac or Windows) and the app version, so we can count trials. It contains no name, email address or license key. Our Privacy Policy (version 1.1) has the details, including how to have your notice deleted.
Improved: search results ARE ABLE TO BE MOVED AND RESIZED
Search results now open beside the wheel instead of covering its lower half. Every slot stays in view, so you can drag a result onto any of them. The new window will remember its position relative to the radial.
To move the results, drag the strip along their top edge. They keep that spot relative to the wheel, wherever the wheel opens.
To resize them, drag the bottom-right corner. The height you set is how many results show before the list scrolls. Double-click the strip to restore the default size and position.
FIXED:
On Mac, external drives eject normally after you quit DaVinci Resolve. Rapid Radial’s helper inside Resolve could keep running after Resolve quit, with files on your media drive still open. It now always quits with Resolve, on Mac and Windows, and no longer holds files open on external drives. If Resolve is open while you update, restart it once to load the new helper.
The activation and Registration windows now grow to fit longer messages. Nothing gets cut off, including on small or high-scaling screens.
If your license is already active on its two computers, the message now names the right place to free one up: Registration… → Unregister This Computer, on one of those computers.
